This delicious homemade lime curd is made with fresh limes and is smooth, and creamy with a tangy citrus flavour. Easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. 

Fresh Limes Granulated Sugar Salted Butter Eggs


This recipe makes about 2 cups. Fresh lime curd can be used as a dip or dessert sauce or to fill cookies, cakes and tarts.


In a medium-sized pot, heat the butter, sugar and lime juice until the butter is melted and the sugar is dissolved.

Melt the  butter


In a medium-size bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth.  Next, slowly drizzle the heated butter and lime juice into the eggs while whisking continuously. 

Whisk the eggs and lime


Return the mixture to the pot and heat over medium heat, while stirring, until it is thickened and coats the back of a spoon. 

Heat and thicken the  curd


Pour the lime curd into mason jars and place in the refrigerator to cool and set. Then use as desired in your favourite desserts.

Let it set
