With a mix of creamy butter, sweet brown sugar, maple syrup and warm spices, Hot buttered rum is a comforting drink perfect for the holidays.  Simple ingredients and easy to make!

Butter Brown sugar Maple syrup Vanilla Cinnamon Cloves Nutmeg

A warm comforting drink for a cold winter night. Just add a scoop of batter to a mug, add boiling water and a splash of rum, top with optional whipped cream. 

Allow the butter to soften, then cut into cubes and add to a large mixing bowl. 

Add the brown sugar and beat with an electric mixer or stand mixer until fluffy and well combined. 

Mix in the vanilla and maple syrup, then add the spices and mix until well combined. 

To make your drink, add a scoop of batter to a mug then add boiling water and stir until the batter is dissolved.  Add a splash of rum and top with whipped cream and fresh nutmeg.

Store hot buttered rum mix in an airtight container at room temperature.  It can also be refrigerated or frozen for longer storage. A jar of mix with a pretty ribbon and label makes a great gift.
