This delicious crostini appetizer, with creamy brie and fresh pear is perfect for the holidays. Topped with fresh herbs and balsamic reduction, this dish can be prepared ahead of time and served hot or cold.

Begin by cutting the baguette into half inch slices.

Brush both sides of the slices with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.  Broil for about 2 minutes to toast the bread, then flip and toast the other side.

Use a sharp knife to cut the brie into slices.

Top each baguette slice with brie, then pop under the broiler for a couple of minutes to soften the cheese.

Wash and cut the pears into thin slices.  You do not need to peel them.

Place two slices of pear on each crostini, then sprinkle with fresh, chopped rosemary. If you want to serve this hot you can pop it in the oven for a couple of minutes to warm the pear.

Move the finished crostini to a serving platter and drizzle with balsamic reduction before serving.
