Made with simple ingredients and minimal prep, these spicy, cheesy biscuits can be on the table in about 35 minutes! Makes 8-10 biscuits.
All purpose flour Baking powder Salt Butter Sour cream Milk Cheddar cheese Fresh jalapeno peppers
These tender, flaky biscuits are filled with cheddar cheese and fresh jalapeno peppers. They are the perfect complement to a bowl of soup or chili. Split these flaky biscuits open and slather with butter, or get creative and use them for mini sandwiches.
Mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt; add the butter and cut in with a pastry blender until it resembles crumbs.
Add the shredded cheese and diced jalapenos to the flour mixture and stir to combine. This is an excellent time to add some cooked chopped bacon too!
Add the sour cream and milk to the flour mixture and stir until it forms a shaggy dough.
Turn the dough onto a floured counter. Press it into a square 1 inch thick and cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
Place the biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with milk or cream and bake a 400°F for 20 minutes.
