Skillet cheeseburgers, or smash burgers, are quick and easy. Made with simple ingredients and ready in just 15 minutes they are incredibly juicy and full of flavour.

1 Pound lean ground beef
Salt & Pepper
Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form it into meatballs.
Cook the hamburger patties
Heat a large cast-iron or non-stick skillet on medium-high heat. Place the meatballs in the pan and smash them flat with a spatula. Season with salt and pepper and cook 3-4 minutes before flipping.
Add the cheese
After flipping, season again. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, then add the cheese and allow it to melt slightly.
Assemble the Burgers
Remove the patties from the skillet. Assemble the burgers as desired with hamburger sauce, lettuce, tomato or other favourite toppings.
