Ingredients

  • 6 cup mixed berries frozen or fresh
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • 5 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 box yellow cake mix for a 9x13 cake
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Prepare a 9x13 baking dish with non-stick spray.
  • Mix the flour, cornstarch, and sugar in a small bowl until they are well combined.
  • Add the berries to the baking dish, then add the flour mixture. Stir to coat the berries, then spread them evenly over the bottom of the dish.
  • Combine the cake mix, melted butter, and milk in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Stir to form a thick batter.
  • Dollop the batter over the berries, then spread it over the top. Don't worry about it being perfectly even.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 55- 60 minutes until bubbly and golden brown. Check at the 50-minute mark, and if the cake is getting too brown, cover it with foil to finish baking.
  • Remove from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
