Ingredients

  • 3 Cups vanilla ice cream
  • 3 tbsp butterscotch sauce plus more for garnish
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • whipped cream
  • toffee bits

Instructions

  • Place the ice cream, butterscotch sauce, and milk in a blender.
  • Place the lid on the blender, turn the blender to low, and gradually increase the speed until the shake is blended. If you want a thinner shake, you can add a bit more milk, if you want it thicker, add a bit more ice cream.
  • Drizzle some butterscotch sauce on the inside of two glasses.
  • Pour the milkshake into the glasses, then top with whipped cream, butterscotch sauce, and toffee bits, if desired.

Notes

The thickness of the milkshake will change depending on the firmness of the ice cream.  Softer ice cream will result in a thinner shake.
How much milk you need to add will also depend on the power of your blender.  High-speed blenders will require less liquid than some lower-powered appliances.
Instead of store-bought butterscotch, you can make a homemade butterscotch sauce with just a few ingredients.
