Frozen waffle French toast is a quick and easy breakfast that combines two popular breakfast foods: waffles and French toast!  These delicious French toast waffles come together quickly and easily with just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 Frozen waffles
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Remove the frozen waffles from the freezer and let them thaw for about 10 minutes before starting. This will help them soak up more of the delicious batter. Alternatively, you can pop them in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
  • Preheat a griddle or skillet to medium heat.
  • In a wide, shallow bowl, whisk the egg until smooth.
  • In a measuring cup, measure the milk, then whisk in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and spices.
  • Add the milk to the eggs and whisk to combine.
  • Dip each waffle in the egg mixture, coating both sides. You will want to dunk the waffle in the batter to make sure it has a chance to soak in. Just a few seconds per side is sufficient.
  • Lightly grease the griddle with butter or oil.
  • Place the soaked waffles on the griddle and cook for about 5 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook for a few more minutes.
    The perfect French toast waffle will have a golden, slightly crisp exterior and should be soft and moist in the middle.
  • Remove the waffles from the griddle and serve as desired.
