Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds chicken wings split
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt or 1/4 tsp table salt
  • olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Place the chicken wings in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss to coat.
  • Mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and seasonings in a small bowl. Sprinkle half of the mixture over the wings and toss to coat.
  • Wait about 5 minutes until the flour looks sticky, then add the remaining flour mixture and toss again.
  • Wait another 5 minutes until the coating looks a bit sticky, then place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Give a light spritz with olive oil spray, paying attention to any parts of the wings where the coating looks dry.
  • Set the temperature to 380°F, cook the wings for 22-25 minutes, and turn halfway through. Wings are done when they are crispy and golden brown.
If using an instant-read thermometer, the temperature at the thickest part of the wing should read 165°F.
