Air-fried crispy breaded chicken wings are simply seasoned, easy to prepare, and ready in about 30 minutes. These versatile wings can be served as is or with your favorite sauces and are the perfect addition to any wing platter.
They are the perfect wing to balance out a platter of bolder wings such as Air Fried Honey Hot Wings, Mango Habanero Wings, or Air Fryer Tequila Lime Wings.
Wing night is always popular in our house, and we love them in any form.
While saucy seasoned wings are always a treat, these crispy breaded chicken wings are also a family favorite.
The simple seasoning and extra crunchy coating on these chicken wings make them perfect for serving with a variety of dips and sauces. Because they aren’t spicy, they are kid-friendly and ideal for those who prefer their wings without the heat.
You can toss them in a sauce before serving, such as BBQ or hot sauce, or you can simply serve a selection of dips on the side allowing everyone to choose their own.
We love them with the standard dips such as Creamy Blue Cheese or Ranch Dip, but other favorites are Honey Mustard Sauce or Creamy Cilantro Dip.
These wings round out a wing platter nicely and are great for football parties, appetizer nights, or even as part of a main meal with some simple sides.
They take only a few minutes to prepare and cook in less than 30 minutes, so they are great for busy weeknights as well.
Leftovers can be eaten hot or cold, making them nice for the next day’s lunchbox.

Chicken wings – I prefer to buy split wings. You can buy whole wings and do it yourself, but I hate paying for the tips that get tossed. Depending if you are a drums or flats person, you can choose to buy packages of drums only if you like.
Olive Oil – A little bit of olive oil helps the breading stick to the wings, aids in crisping them, and ensures that you aren’t left with dry, powdery breading after cooking. You can use other oils, such as avocado oil, canola, or vegetable oil if you prefer
All-purpose flour, corn starch, and baking powder – The combination of the flour, corn starch, and baking powder forms the breading for these chicken wings, giving them an extra crispy coating. I recommend using all three for the best results, but if necessary, you can omit the cornstarch or baking powder. If you need to keep the wings gluten-free, omit the flour or replace it with a 1:1 gluten-free all-purpose blend.
Seasonings – The seasoning blend consists of dry spices you likely already have in your pantry; we use garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt. However, you can use any seasonings you like. Chilli powder or cayenne pepper would add heat, while dried herbs such as oregano or thyme add a nice savory flavor. You can also use premade blends such as Cajun seasoning, BBQ seasoning, or ranch mix.

Storing Leftover Chicken Wings
If you have leftover wings, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about three days.
You can refresh the crispy texture by reheating the wings in the air fryer for 5-7 minutes at 350°F.
You can freeze cooked wings for several months in an airtight container or freezer bag.
