Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar lightly packed
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and place a sheet of plastic wrap over top.
  • With the heel of your hand, or a meat mallet, gently pound the thick end of the chicken breasts so that the chicken breasts are an even thickness throughout.
  • In a small bowl, combine the seasonings, then sprinkle over both sides of the chicken.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 10-15 minutes until the seasoning no longer looks dry.
  • Place the chicken on a preheated grill, close the lid, and allow to cook for about 8 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken and cook for another 8-10 minutes, or until it is cooked through.
They are cooked when the juices run clear when pierced with a fork, or the internal temperature reads 165°F when tested with an instant-read thermometer.
  • Remove the chicken to a plate, cover with foil, and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
