Air fryer cheesy boursin spaghetti squash is a quick and easy meal with whole spaghetti squash, creamy Boursin cheese, and cherry tomatoes. This tasty, cheesy dish is a great alternative to pasta and can be served as a main meal or side dish.
This cheesy air fryer spaghetti squash, with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil, is a delicious recipe ready in about 30 minutes. With tender strands of spaghetti squash in a sauce of creamy Boursin cheese and fresh cherry tomatoes, this tasty dish is similar to the famous TikTok Feta pasta.
It makes a great meal but can also be served as a side dish with a protein, such as grilled chicken or simple air-fried pork chops.

Why You’ll Love Boursin Spaghetti Squash
- It’s easy – This recipe is quick and easy, with just a few simple ingredients and a little prep.
- It’s delicious – We love doing spaghetti squash in the air fryer because it is easy and so tasty. When roasted in the air fryer, the squash is perfectly tender yet retains some bite. The added Boursin and tomatoes that form a creamy, cheesy sauce make it even better.
- It’s quick – Roasting spaghetti squash in the air fryer is much faster than roasting it in a traditional oven. It will cook in about half the time, allowing you to get dinner to the table in about 30 minutes.
Do you remember the tomato feta pasta bake, a viral TikTok sensation a couple of years ago?
This cheesy spaghetti squash recipe is similar, except instead of using pasta, it’s made with spaghetti squash and filled with creamy Boursin cheese. It is one of my favorite ways to enjoy this vegetable.
The squash is air-fried until the inside is tender, then stuffed with Boursin cheese and cherry tomatoes and cooked until the cheese is bubbly. Once it’s done, it’s finished with fresh basil, and then the inside of the squash is shredded with a fork to create pasta-like strands coated in the creamy, cheesy sauce.
It’s a great meal for busy weeknights as there is little prep, it takes about 30 minutes to cook, and there are many ways to customize it. If you want to add some meat to your spaghetti squash boats, you can add some cooked ground turkey, diced chicken breasts, or Italian sausages when you add the cheese and tomatoes.
If you don’t have Boursin, you can use feta cheese, goat cheese, or cream cheese instead, and of course, a sprinkle of parmesan cheese is a great way to finish it.
Because I use herb and garlic Boursin, I don’t usually add any extra seasonings except a bit of salt and black pepper. Still, you can add Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or red pepper flakes to spice it up.
Ingredients & Substitutions

Spaghetti squash – You will want one squash weighing 2-3 pounds. Any bigger will likely not fit in the air fryer basket. I can get both halves of a 2.5-pound squash in my Cosorit 5.8l air fryer basket. If you have a smaller air fryer or choose a larger squash, you will need to cook one half at a time.
Olive oil – Brushing the squash with a little olive oil helps give it that nice golden brown color and keeps it from drying out as it cooks. You can use any oil with a higher smoke point, such as avocado or canola oil.
Boursin cheese – This creamy cheese is the star of the cheesy sauce. I usually use herb and garlic flavor, but you can choose any flavor. You can use feta, goat, or cream cheese if you don’t have Boursin. We also like a sprinkle of parmesan.
Cherry tomatoes – You can use any variety of cherry or grape tomatoes you like, especially if they are in season and you have full vines. You could use diced Roma tomatoes if you don’t have cherry tomatoes.
Garlic – Because all cheesy pasta dishes are better with garlic, I like adding fresh garlic when adding the cheese and tomatoes. If you feel the Boursin has enough flavor, skip this step or use garlic powder instead.
Basil – Fresh herbs finish the dish off nicely. Basil is always a great choice with cheese and tomatoes, but you can use oregano, thyme, or a combination of herbs. A sprinkle of dried oregano or basil will do if you don’t have fresh available.
Step by Step Instructions for Cheesy Spaghetti Squash
Carefully cut the squash in half lengthwise using a heavy, sharp knife. Use a spoon to scoop out the seeds, then brush the inside and edges of each squash half with olive oil.
Season with salt and pepper, then place the squash, hollow side up, in the air fryer basket.
Set the air fryer to 360°F and cook the squash for 20-25 minutes until it is fork tender.
Add ¼ of the block of Boursin to each half, along with the cherry tomatoes and minced garlic, and return the squash to the air fryer. If you want to add cooked sausage, ground chicken, or other protein, you can also add that now.
Set the temperature to 400°F and cook for approximately 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
The cooking time to achieve al dente texture will vary depending on the size of the squash, how ripe it is, and the size and power of your air fryer.
When the squash is done, remove it from the air fryer and create the long strands by dragging a fork through the length of the inside of the spaghetti squash. Use the fork to mix the squash strands with the cheesy topping to coat them in the creamy sauce.
Add a sprinkle of fresh chopped basil and parmesan cheese to finish it off.
Serving Suggestions
This tasty air fryer spaghetti squash recipe is a perfect meal or a delicious side dish.
You can serve it as a meal, with just the cheese and tomatoes, or add some cooked ground chicken, sausage, or turkey. I also like it with diced grilled chicken. Ensure the protein you add to this stuffed spaghetti squash recipe is fully cooked. A simple salad will complete the meal nicely.
If you serve it as a side dish, it goes great with pesto turkey meatballs, grilled chicken, or pork chops, or you can serve it with air fryer chicken leg quarters or beef dishes.
Storing Leftovers
Leftover spaghetti squash can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about three days. You can refrigerate the entire squash half; no need to remove the skin of the squash first.
It can be reheated by popping it back in the air fryer at 360°F for about 7 minutes.
Top Tips & Tricks
- The cooking time to achieve al dente texture will vary depending on the size of the squash, how ripe it is, and the size and power of your air fryer. Start with 20 minutes and add more time as needed.
- When adding protein, such as ground chicken, turkey, or sausage, when you add the cheese, ensure that it is fully cooked as the 5 minutes needed to melt the cheese will not be long enough to cook the meat
