Ingredients & Substitutions

For a full list of ingredients and measurements, see the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Frozen whipped topping: You can use regular, fat-free, or sugar-free whipped topping for this recipe. Frozen whipped topping works better than real whipped cream as it has stabilizers that help keep the dip fluffy, whereas real whipped cream deflates and becomes watery after time.

Vanilla pudding mix: The instant pudding mix helps give the dip structure and flavor. Vanilla is the best option for this recipe as it pairs so well with the vanilla flavor of the eggnog. White chocolate pudding mix also works well in this recipe.

Eggnog: You can use full-fat or light eggnog, but full-fat will give you a thicker dip. Choose your favorite brand for this recipe, or consider making homemade eggnog if you are feeling ambitious.

Spices: The spices used in this recipe are cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. These are the traditional spices used to flavor eggnog. If you have a store-bought eggnog spice you can use that instead. Other spice blends such as pumpkin pie or apple pie spice could be used if you want a slightly different flavor.

Marshmallow Eggnog Fluff

If you love dessert salads like ambrosia salad, you may like making this fluff with marshmallows.

Add one to two cups of marshmallows to this recipe for a thicker dip or spoonable salad.

After mixing, let the dip rest for a few hours or overnight. The mini marshmallows will puff up, become super fluffy and soft, and give the dip more texture.

Storing Eggnog Pudding Dip

You can store this dip covered in plastic wrap or an airtight container in the refrigerator.

It will keep for about 3 days. After 3 days it can still be consumed, but you will notice it will deflate and become less fluffy.

We have not tried freezing this dip.
