We love burger night. But sometimes it’s nice to stray from the usual beef burgers.
These spinach and feta cheese turkey burgers are a nice option when you don’t want a beef or chicken burger, but still want something full of flavor.
Made with lean ground turkey, fresh chopped spinach, and salty feta cheese, these burgers are simple to prepare and come together quickly. Ready in 30 minutes from start to finish, they are a great meal option any night of the week.
They are cooked in a skillet on the stovetop, so you don’t need any fancy equipment. But you can use an electric griddle, if you have one, or cook them outdoors on a Blackstone Griddle.
We love topping these burgers with fresh cucumber, sliced tomatoes, and a tangy tzatziki, but you can add any of your favorite burger toppings; lettuce, sliced onions, and cheese are all great options.
If you don’t want tzatziki, you could add some garlic chive mayo, honey mustard mayo, or even burger sauce.
The leftover patties can be stored in the fridge for up to three days and can be reheated in the microwave, stovetop, or air fryer.
If you don’t want to eat them as a hamburger, the patties are also delicious on top of a salad.

Ingredients & Substitutions

Extra-lean ground turkey – We prefer using extra-lean ground turkey for this recipe, which is typically made from turkey thighs. While you can use ground turkey breast, it is drier than turkey thigh and has less flavor. If using turkey breast, you may need to add a binder such as egg to add moisture and help the patties hold their shape while cooking.
Spinach – You want to use fresh spinach for this recipe for the best flavor and results. I like using baby spinach as it’s more tender, but you don’t have to. You do want to make sure it is very finely chopped, as it will incorporate better into the meat, and the patties will hold together better.
Feta cheese – You can use any feta you like; goat’s milk or cow’s milk feta are both fine. You can use either low-fat or full-fat cheese, as well as plain feta or seasoned feta. You can chop the feta yourself, but this recipe will also work fine with pre-crumbled feta.
Seasonings – We’ve used simple seasonings in these burgers, sticking with garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. However, they’d also be great with blended seasonings such as a Greek seasoning blend. If you want to add a bit of spice, you can add chilli flakes or powder.
Making Turkey Burger Patties
These turkey burgers are quick and simple to make with just a few easy steps.
Start by placing all of the ingredients in a bowl and mixing well to combine.

Once you’ve combined the mixture, form it into four equal-sized meatballs, then gently flatten them into patties.
If you don’t need to cook them right away, you can cover and refrigerate until you’re ready; otherwise, you can cook them immediately.

Blackstone Griddle Turkey Burgers
It is easy to cook these turkey burger patties on the Blackstone Griddle.
Heat your griddle to medium heat, then place the burger patties on the griddle. Cook for 6-8 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook for a further 6-8 minutes until both sides are golden and the burgers are cooked through.
The burgers are done when the internal temperature, as measured with an instant-read thermometer, reaches 165°F.

Food Safety and Storage
Leftover turkey burger patties can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Cooked turkey burger patties can also be wrapped and frozen for several months.
